And yet people wanted to read about Steve. What to do? Why, give him a new title! Enter the mini-series Steve Roger: Super Soldier. Yes! It will be gritty and realistic!

The gritty, realistic world of robot femme fatales and super soldier serums.

Did I mention that his blue new outfit that is not a Oh wait! Yes they will.costume at all with a star on the chest is the exact same color as his Captain America blue outfit with a star on the chest. A complete coincidence! And terribly, terribly stealthy and suitable for sneaking into buildings.

If a reasonably well-written comic about the once and future Captain America in a Marvel Universe James Bond ripoff is what you want, this is the comic for you. There's nothing wrong with it, it's a servicable little story, it just lacks any sense of urgency. The whole thing feels slightly disjointed. First he's looking for the formula, then he has some flashbacks. Then someone he suspected of a crime dies, he angsts, and then he has some flashbacks. Finally, he runs into a robot femme fatale, then he has some flashbacks. What it lacks is any reason I should care.

I like Steve Rogers, but next month I'm spending my $3.99 on a non-Marvel comic and a donut.
