Marvel Her-oes 1-4/4 - A comic for actual girls, not women

In theory, I should like Marvel Her-oes. Girls definitely do like comics, as witness my teenage years, and it's nice to see a decent comic for younger readers concentrating on superheroines.

It even picked the perfect protagonist for the job, Janet Van Dyne; she's a fashion designer / superhero who looks like a fairy in her super form, what could be finer? Her-oes allows Janet to like clothes and boys without making either the center of her life, or even important to the story, which is really a nice touch. Grace Randolph's writing even manages to give the entire female cast of the book actual personalities that aren't cribbed from the big book of teen movie cliches. Yes, I approve.

But I couldn't get into it.
